Blackjack: in this game, the player must attempt to have the closest value possible to 21 (in order to beat the dealer) without exceeding 21. This is achieved by adding his or her card values. A card is dealt and the player must decide if he wants another card to be dealt or if he has had enough and is close enough to 21 to stop the game. If he were to exceed 21, he would automatically lose (this is referred to as being “busted”)
Here are a few words often used during a Blackjack game:
Hit (Play, ask for a card) – To request another card. You can do this as many times as you like as long as you don't go over 21 points.
Stand (Stay) – If you have two cards with the same value you can divide them and make two hands of it.
Bust - You have lost.
Slots: there are two different types of slot machines: basic slot machines and progressive slots. The basic slot machine is classified as such because of its jackpot. If a simple slot has a constant top jackpot that doesn’t change regardless of the money played through the machine, it is called a basic slot. This type of slot is very popular amongst competitors that wish to play for a long period of time on a limited income as basic slots are known to offer smaller and more frequent wins. On the other hand, progressive slot machine’s jackpots grow according to the amount of money played through them. The more people play, the bigger the jackpot will get, until someone wins it all. In both cases, a typical example of a slot machine is that it has a single payline running across the midpoint of three slots reels. The more money you bet, the more chances you have of winning, as you can cover more paylines (you can even cover them all).
Roulette: the goal of the game is to guess the result of a ball spun around a wheel, which is divided into roulette sections, and win money. Each roulette section has a precise number and is either black or red. You can bet on a particular number, or some characteristic of that figure, such as that it will be odd or even, that it will be within the first 12 figures, or that it will be red or black.
Here are a few words often used during a Roulette game:
Straight up – Put your chips in the number you want.
Split bet – Put your chips in the line between 2 numbers.
Street bet – Put your chips at the end of any number's row.
Corner bet - Put your chips in the corner where 4 numbers join.
Five bet – It's the only bet that allows you to bet 5 numbers.
Dozen bet - In this bet you play with 12 numbers.
Red/Black – You can bet the Red color or the Black color and so you play with 18 numbers.
Even/Odd – You bet Even or Odd number.
1-18 / 19-36 – You bet to top half of the number or the bottom half of the numbers.
Craps: the aim is to bet on or against numbers or certain number combinations being rolled on a pair of six-sided dice.
Baccarat: this game consists of predicting whether the dealer’s hand will win, the player’s hand will win, or if the game will end in a tie. The total of a hand is defined by adding up the value of each of its individual cards. Tens and “face” cards are worth zero, whilst all other cards are worth their numeric value. After adding the total, the only digit used is the last one. In consequence, Baccarat hands have values from 0 to 9, and the hand with the highest value wins. If the hands eventually have an equal value, then the game ends in a draw. To begin with, both the dealer and the player are dealt two cards. If the sum of these is a total of 8 or 9, the hand is what is called “natural” and the game ends there. If not, “third card rules” will determine if a hand should get a third and final card.
